Welcome to your first official UNDRDOG newsletter!
These articles will be added to monthly to keep you updated about all the positive changes that we are bringing to our club, as well as any crucial information you may need to know regarding your membership, motivational messages and a platform for keeping in touch with you all.
Firstly, we’d like to say an enormous thank you for such a warm welcome you have extended to us - we already feel part of your community. We know that the change in ownership has been an uncertain time but we are beyond thrilled that everyone has made us feel right at home.
Ok, so let's get into the BIG NEWS;
NEW KIT:
After listening to your feedback, we have ordered a much requested piece of equipment that we hope will propel the gym into a more versatile training environment. We have many kit advancements in the pipeline, but after much consideration we decided to go with a brand new Plate Loaded Exigo Glute Thrust.
This tremendous piece of equipment is due to arrive in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out in the gym and on socials to see when it’s landed.
CAFE DEPARTURE:
Sadly, we must announce that our on-site cafe Revive has left our facility. It was a very difficult decision but ultimately they decided to pursue future endeavours beyond UNDRDOG. We thank them for being a huge part of our starting venture and we wish them the absolute best going forward.
NEW COMBAT STUDIO:
You may have seen our recent announcement on social media about our in-club combat studio Ronin Combat Centre moving upstairs. This area is much larger and will host the following amenities:
Full sized 15x15ft boxing ring
Punch bag rig with 15 diverse punch bags
Jiu Jitsu and wrestling floor mat
MMA wall cage
Strength & conditioning area
This new area will be included in your membership and FREE TO USE for all members and day pass users. Ronin Combat classes will still continue under their timetable and there is a separate charge if you wish to take part in those.
NEW CLASS STUDIO:
With Ronin Combat vacating their old studio, we have made the decision to transform this space into our new private class studio where we will host over 30 brand new classes each week. We will be running standard, well-known gym classes such as HIIT, Legs Bums Tums and Circuits, as well as some fresh, homegrown UNDRDOG classes with our own special twist. If you have any suggestions on which classes you’d like to see held at UNDRDOG, please don’t hesitate to let us know!
NEW RECEPTION:
You may have noticed a very nice (but random) white desk in the walkway to the gym. As nice as the desk is, this is not its permanent location and we will
soon be moving to our new reception - the entrance to which being the doors located under the UNDRDOG Fitness sign on the outside of the building. Once in place, this will be your new way into the gym leaving the old space to be transformed…
NEW SPIN STUDIO (Further down the line):
Once the new reception is in place, the area that was where the reception is now will become a brand new SPIN STUDIO. As much as we’d like to get this going as soon as possible, this may take some time to get into place. In time, we will be buying a fleet of spin bikes and blacking out the studio area, with additional lights and speakers to really enhance your Spin experience. These classes will be included FREE in your membership. Our ambition is to have this in place in mid 2025.
NEW DOWNSTAIRS TOILETS:
You may have seen the new corridor expansion to the right of the internal stairs. This is the walkway which leads from the new reception area and is currently open for members to use. Along this corridor, there are two new toilet facilities for members to use.
NEW GYM MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE (Member App):
We are aware that since the takeover there have been a few issues with payments and your member app. This is due to the complexity of the business transferral, resulting in various technical errors from our gym operating and direct debit systems. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your continued patience in our efforts to alleviate these issues.
Based on the ongoing interruptions, we have taken the necessary steps to invest in a brand new membership software system. It will be faster, more user friendly, more functional and will provide new features for members to make your experience easier. The transition should take around 4 weeks to complete and should be seamless (although we will caveat with the fact that little is seamless in this world!). You will need to download a new member app once the system is in place, but it will be an UNDRDOG branded app and you will be taken through the instructions to install this new software when it goes live.

After listening to member feedback, we have added 3 new memberships to our system and website:

Access from 6am-5:30pm

Couples
Membership for two people
Payment from one account holder
£60 per month
Family
Membership for up to 4 people
Payment from one account holder
£110 per month
NEW SPEAKERS:
New heights of vibes and atmosphere arrived in the form of 8 brand new Marshall speakers located in each corner of the two workout rooms. Our brand new sound system has been in place for over a month now and the feedback we’ve had on them has been as incredible as the sound quality. We’re thrilled you love them as much as we do.
NEW CHANGING ROOMS:
Since the UNDRDOG takeover, one of the top priorities on our list of club improvements is to fully refurbish the men’s and women’s changing rooms. This is to be underway as soon as possible, as we continue to get the necessary construction forces in place. Once work on the changing rooms begins, you may experience brief periods of closures and relocated changing procedures. We appreciate your patience during this time and we’re very excited to be able to present a brighter and more enjoyable changing room experience.
TEMPORARY TEA & COFFEE AREA:
With the former age space being unavailable, we’ve acknowledged the lack of social space that many member groups used to enjoy. Whilst we can’t offer a new cafe area (yet), we have temporarily filled one of our new rooms with tables and chairs for anyone to use and enjoy some tea and coffee. We know it's not quite the same, but it offers a place to socialise pre/post workout and a waiting area.
